Method used: hand piecing, hand applique
The original background for this block (Jane's Tears) was made from four triangles and not from one piece of fabric, as shown in the book. It was easy to do and it also make it easier for placing the tears.

Very pretty! I'm still kind of kicking myself that I didn't piece the background in my block... it is such a lovely effect.
