Difficulty of block: moderate easy
Number of pieces: 37
Method used: hand piecing
In the book, Brenda's draft of Bread Basket is comprised of 30 pieces. To make it easier for stitching I increased the pieces to 37, but if you look at the original block it is made up of 41 pieces. So, to end up with 5602 pieces like the original quilt, even if you are following the book, is just not going to happen, but it's still fun to watch the numbers grow.
Another beauty!
ReplyDeleteLovely block.
ReplyDeleteI think every quilter will end up with a different number of pieces ;o)
Lovely combination of fabrics. The two fabrics are totally complementary. Interesting observation about the number of pieces.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be one awesome quilt! I just had to join your blog to see how it turns out:)
ReplyDeleteMonday Morning in the UK ~ where are you ?
ReplyDeleteAnother pretty block to keep us all enthusiastic
Thank you
Good Morning Yvonne! It is early Monday morning in Canada. I'm glad you like my latest block. Wishing you a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Do you have a piece count going? I don't remember seeing a running total!
ReplyDeleteOne more beautiful block. I guess we will all end up with different number of pieces. My Bread Basket has 38 pieces. Should I count again? :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely Block. I'll get to that one eventually!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, Karen! I love the fabrics in this one.
