Dad's Plaids is the original name given to this block, but I think of the seashore when I look at my block.  Is that a starfish I see?

    Lovely block!
    I thought you had used a blanket stitch to appliqué the brown parts, but when I took a closer look, I saw it was the fabric ;o)
