C-11

Difficulty of block: easy
Number of pieces: 5
Method used: hand piecing, hand applique

By eliminating 7 pieces, I made Soldiers and Sailors Monument more like the original block.  In the book, four extra seams were added to the border and the center also increased by four additional seams.  I prefer the original way, as it doesn't look as choppy.

This has to be my favorite block yet. What on earth is that fabric?

I had to grab my book because I didn't recognize this block. Very well done!

I've missed out quite a few blocks. This is lovely. It must have been fun appliquéd it - Hugs Nat

Applique was definitely the way to go on this block. I had not visited this blog for a bit. Nice seeing all the newly finished blocks.
