Difficulty of block: easy
Number of pieces:  11
Method used: hand piecing

This week went much better then last week, as I pieced together the Buffalo Tree Hopper block.  If I had looked up what a Buffalo Tree Hopper was before I selected the fabric, I would have picked a nice bright green.  Brenda changed the pattern a little from the original by making each of the four red corner triangles out of two pieces of fabric instead of one.  I went with the original block design.  It is a little disappointing the Dear Jane book does not come with any written instruction explaining how to construct the blocks and why some blocks have been changed from the original.

If I was to only use one word to describe Chase A Myth, it would be nasty!  The section running on an angle across the center of the block is like an elastic band.  I must have done something wrong, when cutting out the pieces.  So, a perfectly square block, I have not.  Hopefully, when it comes time to piece the blocks together, I can ease it in.  Or, maybe I should consider making a new one?  On a happy note, the block pattern is a very interesting one, even with its slightly distorted look.

As I flipped through the Dear Jane book, Walter's Place caught my eye.  I thought it was a pretty cool pattern.  Though Brenda changed this block a little from the original, it still looks very nice. She made the center blocks square.  The original is a little more rectangular.   I have listed this as an Oops! block on my sidebar.

Ben's Bowtie was an interesting one to piece.  It took a little longer then I thought it would, but I enjoyed every minute.

The New Year has arrived and along with it cold, wind and snow.  So yesterday, well enjoying a nice cup of hot chocolate, I pieced together Rayelle's Fence.
