E-10

Difficulty of block: easy
Number of pieces: 6
Method used: hand piecing, hand applique

I tried to make Five & Dime a little more like the original block by reducing the size of the melons, but something still doesn't look right about it.  After a closer look, I think I should have also made the melons narrower.  All in all, it is still a pretty nice block!

It's definitely another lovely block. I especially like the movement of the curvy gray-green leaves.

I like it the way it is. I did go and look at my photos of DJ and you are correct the original quilt melons are thin and narrow.

It looks right to me. You might want to try the melon shape like the green leaves in the prints? Just a thought - Hugs Nat

How festive! I know you made this a couple months ago-- but since I'm seeing it December, that's what it brings to mind. Beautiful!
