Hand piecing Jane A. Blakely Stickles quilt from 1863.
This block looks like Oriental batik - it's striking Karen - Hugs Nat
Oh Karen... WHat a beautiful block! I'm ready to begin my journey anew with a friend, very soon! :)I need to focus my energy on this quilt, just as I'm sure Jane did...I look forward to coming over to visit your blocks and gain knowledge from your blog. Thank yoU! :)
That is a very pretty block! I just love those fabrics and as Sandra said I need to get started on mine! It's going to be a great journey!
This block is gorgeous! You couldn't have made it any better.
What beautiful fabric placement. Such a nice effect
What a nice fabric you choose for your blocks.
OHHHH what a beauty, this block is spectacular. I'm itching to continue my DJ - but at the moment I'm spending some time with my precious Grandchildren, that are staying with me.
Just gorgeous. You took a very simple block and made it wonderful!
Love the fussy cutting!
Oh dear, IT'S AMAZING! I think you make more gorgeous blocks week after week!!! I really enjoy watching them!
Great fabric selection!
Difficulty of block easy. Really? Because it doesn't have the look of easy. It's beautiful and I love the blue.
You simply surpass yourself each week with your wonderful fabric selection & placement ideas. You must be proud that you're inspiring others to begin their DJ journey. I'm not surprised at all. You make it look easy, your presentation is artistic, and you're not in a "howmanycanImakethisweek" rush.
Ooo... the way you fussy cut this one is so cool! Love it.
