Don't you just love the pink fabric? It is from a Judie Rothermel collection called Charleston. I thought it would work well with the blue fabric I selected for the Tour de France block.

You can tell Autumn is just around the corner, by the fabric I selected for Trooper Green's Badge. The sun is shining, but the temperature has dipped. Fall is in the air.

Difficulty of block: easy
Number of pieces: 9
Method used: hand piecing

I almost didn't get my Dear Jane block (Four Corner Press) pieced this week, as a new project seems to have all my attention. I started hand appliqueing the first of twenty blocks from a pattern called The Civil War Bride Quilt. It is an interpretation of a quilt called Bird of Paradise (1858-1863). As I finish each block, I will post it on my main blog, Journey of a Quilter and also on The Civil War Bride blog that Lizzie has started for those interested in making it. So, it looks like Jane and the bride will have to share my reproduction fabric. I hope to have the first block completed in a day or two.

Look what a little fussy cutting can do. It sure makes you look at fabric in a totally different way and it can be a little addictive. I'm very pleased with the way Meeting Place turned out.
