This block is called Family Album, so I surrounded it with some old family photos. That's a picture of me in the teapot frame, many years ago.

I have listed this block as an oops! block on my sidebar. It looks like Jane Stickle has a narrow border going around the block, in the main colour. I decided not to redraft Brenda's pattern.

Difficulty of block: easy (well, it should have been)

My seam ripper was put to good use on Scout's Honor. In no time I pieced together the nine-patch and then the border around it. I wasn't happy with one side of the border, so out came the seam ripper. It took me a couple of tries to get it right, when in the end; it wasn't that bad in the first place. Then it seemed like hours to attach the four corner triangles. Two of the triangles have blunt ends, but for some strange reason when I drew on the stitching lines, I extended them to complete the points of the triangle. This making them too big. Finally the light bulb went on and I realized what I had done.

I'm pretty pleased with how Tinker Toy turned out. Interesting pattern and I love the fabric.
