Fireweed Flower was more frustrating then difficult. I started with the center square and added the four triangles. Then I attached the skinny green strips to the diamonds. Then the frustration began. It appeared the diamond section was too large for the triangle section. The seam was longer on the diamond pieces. After stitching, removing my stitches and stitching again, I realized I was to only stitch to the tip of the triangle and that funny overlapping of the green was stitched separately. Also, stitching the outer green pieces at that same spot was a little tricky. But, it worked out and in the end, looks pretty nice.

Rising Sun was a fun one to make. I rated this block as moderate difficulty, only because all seams converged at the same spot. Pressing was a little difficult because of the bulk in the middle.

I'm looking over a four-leaf clover
That I overlooked before.
One leaf is sunshine, the second is rain,
Third is the roses that grow in the lane.
No need explaining, the one remaining
Is somebody I adore.
I'm looking over a four-leaf clover
That I overlooked before

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

My Diamond Dilemma

I so want to start working on some diamonds, but for the life of me, I can't decide on fabric. Linda Franz made her Quilted Diamonds with just two fabrics, white and blue. My first thought was to make scrappy diamonds, then, I could use my test diamond. Now, I'm thinking the scrappy look would not do the diamonds justice. I could go with just two colours like Linda, or I could select one of the many fabric collections, for a little more variety in the diamonds. As for colour, I'm now thinking soft and feminine. What would you do?

Piercing Rays gave me a little trouble. Once the center is pieced, you circle the intersection to close in the tiny hole left in the middle. I circled and circled, but still had a tiny hole. Then I circled one last time and pulled very tight on the thread and it closed. All was good. Then, I pressed my block and what reappeared? You guessed it! Once closed, my points should meet in the middle.
