K-2

Difficulty of block: moderate
Number of pieces: 40
Method used: hand piecing

Grandpa's Chickens! Don't you just love the name of this block? I gave it a difficulty rating of moderate, only because of the many seams to match. Instead of strip piecing, to get the checkered effect, I pieced each square individually. Thirty-six little squares measuring just a little over half an inch each. Good practice for when I make my Postage Stamp quilt.

so balanced! I love your presentation of your finished blocks! The eggs in the basket is really thinking inside the square.

What cute fabric. I can't believe you hand pieced it too.

I have never heard the block name "Grandpa's Chickens". I like the way you have displayed the block.

I'm going to join the crowd and say that I also love the way you photographed the block (and the others, too).

I'm usually on your other blog and haven't visited here in a while. These blocks are great. I like to hand piece but to take on the postage stamp quilt...well, that's a big challenge.

LOL! I love your photo for this one. Perfect. And the block is gorgeous. You always pick such rich and lovely colors for your blocks.
