D-6

Difficulty of block: easy
Number of pieces: 9
Method used: hand piecing

This one was very easy. I wonder why it was named Challenge??? Some time back, I purchased this little seam pressing tool and never tried it. So, as I was piecing this block, I gave it a go. How wonderful! This sure makes it easier when it is time to press with the iron.

Until next week.....happy quilting!

What a lovely 'simple' looking block - I'm sure though that it's very effective
Keep up the good work Karen

That seam pressing tool looks like a good idea. I use one of those little irons but for taking places it gets so hot and I always forget to unplug it for a while before packing it up.

It sounds like you and I are doing our Dear Jane in a similar fashion. I am piecing it all by hand using freeze paper template. Although I have the computer program and I just print out the pattern on the freeze paper and then cut them out.

I've used that little tool to "press" and like it as well. Nice block...an easy one once in a while is a nice break no?!

What a brilliant idea that little seam presser is. Such a nice block too, it may be simple but it is attractive.

Hi again Karen. I think I know why this one is called Challenge. Have a really good look at the original block in the book! I think it could be an oops block. I made it at the weekend after redrafting it. I still haven't got the seams quite right. I'll post a pic on my blog later today.
