Difficulty of block: Easy
Number of pieces: 10
Method used: hand piecing, hand applique (points), reverse applique (center melon)

The background is made up of four pieces with mitered corners. Jane actually made the background in eight pieces. She pieced a small border (same fabric) around the center block first. But, because she used the same fabric as the mitered pieces, I decided to just cut it as four pieces. Now, I wish I did it as eight pieces, just to keep it more like the original.

This was my first time for reverse applique. That went well. Speaking of applique, don't look too close at my point pieces. I did a little inward dip a couple of times.

Hey! Didn't I say, don't look too close! :)
